Transcript
Red Bull's share of the global energy-drink market in 2023: about 13%.
Red Bull was founded in 1984. It invented no new drink. It took a tonic for tired workers and sold it to the West as a badge of energy, edge and youth, at a premium price.
Red Bull priced the drink like a statement, and then spent the margin manufacturing the statement.
It works. In 2025, Red Bull sold 13.969 billion cans in 178 countries.
Yet about 13% means most energy drinks sold worldwide are not Red Bull. It is the largest single brand in a fragmented field, not the owner of the field. When you create a market, know which of those you are buying.
