- From profit to eleven straight losses. Zscaler lost money every year from fiscal 2016 to 2026: $1.3 billion in all.
- It outgrew its own economy many times over. Revenue rose from $0.1 billion in fiscal 2016 to $3.4 billion in fiscal 2026: 41.7 times as much. The US economy, counted the same way in money terms, grew about 60%. Whatever drove it, the economy around it does not account for growth of that size.
- It wasn't the cycle. The losses began in fiscal 2016 (mostly calendar 2016), a year the US economy grew 1.8%. When a company falls while its economy grows, look inside the company first.
- Ahead of almost everyone like it. From 2016 to 2025, its revenue grew 3241% in US dollars; the median among 258 large service companies grew 105%. It outgrew 98% of them.
