- From profit to ten straight losses. Palo Alto Networks lost money every year from fiscal 2013 to 2022: $2 billion in all. Fiscal 2023 was its first profit in eleven years: $0.4 billion.
- It outgrew its own economy many times over. Revenue rose from $1.4 billion in fiscal 2016 to $11.5 billion in fiscal 2026: 8.3 times as much. The US economy, counted the same way in money terms, grew about 60%. Whatever drove it, the economy around it does not account for growth of that size.
- Ahead of almost everyone like it. From 2016 to 2025, its revenue grew 569% in US dollars; the median among 586 large manufacturers grew 58%. It outgrew 94% of them.
- Leaders came and went. Palo Alto Networks filed 33 leadership changes since 2016, more than 85% of large manufacturers (the median is 19). The day after each, its shares moved a median 0.4 points against its sector. The news was rarely news.
