- From profit to ten straight losses. Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust lost money every year from 2016 to 2025: $8.2 billion in all.
- It outgrew its own economy many times over. Revenue rose from $0.2 billion in 2017 to $8 billion in 2025: 50.4 times as much. The US economy, counted the same way in money terms, grew about 53%. Whatever drove it, the economy around it does not account for growth of that size.
- It wasn't the cycle. The losses began in 2016, a year the US economy grew 1.8%. When a company falls while its economy grows, look inside the company first.
- Still smaller than it was. Revenue reached $8 billion in 2025, 11% below its 2023 peak of $8.9 billion.
