The decision

What this pack runs.

A large liability is treated as a legal problem with financial consequences, and it is the other way round. Companies rarely fail because the number was large; they fail because it arrived faster than the business could pay it, or because an unbounded exposure froze the financing they needed for everything else. This pack makes conversion rather than minimization the objective, prices what closing the exposure is worth above its expected value, and tests the resulting schedule in its worst year — because a settlement inside the ceiling and outside the cash is not a settlement.

The organizing test
Whether the exposure can be converted into a schedule, and what that conversion is worth
What it resolves to
The conversion premium
How much above expected value it is worth paying to close the exposure.
The evidence behind it

The casebooks these cases come from.

The pack reads nine sourced decisions through the framework. They are drawn from these casebooks, each one a set of verified records on a single decision type.

The Counterfactual53

A verified record has passed a mechanical claim-versus-source check, a second model's read, and human approval. The count is what exists today, not a target.
